I wish I would have had someone like you to help me with my first month with my sweet girl. I had never had a dog so shut down before Ellie. We made through-patience and love won the day 😍
Thanks for the encouragement. It's been just over a month since we rescued a sweet dog who is outwardly confident and cheerful but has some triggers. Our previous dog settled in the first week. This one will need time to be her happiest self in our home.
Thank you for adopting your sweet dog. You’re welcome, though you know each dog needs their own time and space. I love that you look forward to how s/he will develop. It’s not easy and sometimes it’s frustrating, but noticing small victories helps. I hope you keep me updated on your pup!
That is so Shiloh - even to this day, 6 years after rescue! I've set up a space in the coat room with an abundance of towels. She works on a puzzle toy or chews a bone until she is dry and dirt has dropped. It mostly works. Go B! Great job, Jeanne, for being patient enough to let her fears unfurl in a manner that keep her safe and build connection with you. It will be exciting to see if she learns anything from Usa paw wiping!
That’s great! Adapt to them. B likes to go into the closet, but before we go out (as I’m getting my coat) and not after, otherwise I would try a similar version.
This is just wonderful news- Usa played a role in getting Beatrix to trust and settle in her new home. It’s definitely official now, she belongs😌❤️❤️🐾🐾

Hello, Lisa, thanks but I have no special talents, just the same patience and love that you have for dogs, too.

They keep us innovating!
I love hearing about her progress in realizing she is home and loved. 💕
What a nice telling of the Muddy Paws story.
Bea and Usa are two of my favorite people on the internet. 🙂
And what an incredibly nice thing to say. They are a couple of my favorite people, too.
Beautiful Ms Bea🐾🐾🐾🐾💕
It is always such a joy to see them settle in and be a full dog!
It is gratifying, it takes a long time, but it’s worth it.
Love this story. ❤️🙏
Thank you. She’s becoming more and more comfortable, it’s incredible to witness all the small ways.

Every day is better and better!
Love this. Patience is such a virtue when it comes to dogs who are frightened of so much.
Patience is a virtue, certainly. And a real exercise in Stoicism -- always checking my reaction!
I’m so happy for her 🤗🥰 and you!
Thank you so much!
