Senior dogs are the sweetest! I tell my Ruby Jean (4yo red heeler), she's "mama's spoiled girl". They don't call them velcro dogs for nothing. She's always stuck by my side. I feel guilty when I have to leave for work, but she's the first one to greet me with such exuberance, you would think she hadn't seen me in a week. Recently, we've welcomed 2 farm kitties, brothers, that were supposed to be our mousers, but somehow during this cold winter have managed to weasel their way into our bed alongside Ruby. She's so sweet and funny with them. Nothing like the adoration of a dog.
All so lovely. She's not spoiled if she deserves it, and she does, of course. And the smart farm kitties figured you out! They know a softie when they see one. I agree that we are privileged to have grey-faced fur balls in our lives.
